Overview
The Singapore National Abseiling Standard 3 (SNAS 3) is a national certification endorsed by the Singapore Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (SSCMF). This advanced certification programme will equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to effectively lead, deliver and manage abseiling activities. It focuses on developing proficiency in technical and participant management skills to ensure the safe and successful execution of such activities.
Course Objectives
The learning objectives of the SNAS 3 course are as follows:
Learners will be able to assess and perform risks associated with advanced abseiling, including environmental factors, equipment failure, and improved problem-solving during emergency situations.
Learners will be able to lead and perform abseiling activities with the knowledge and skills acquired.
Learners will be able to set up and rectify abseil activities and systems independently in natural and urban environment settings, while adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Learners will be able to perform a safe and effective rescue and recovery in a non-routine situation management, with assisted rescuer and independent rescue, on any abseil site and tower.
Pre-Requisites
Course participants must be at least 21 years of age.
All participants must hold a valid SNAS Level 2 certification.
Participants must demonstrate their SNAS Level 2 skills through a revalidation process.
A minimum of 6 participants are required for a class to be confirmed.

Course Fees
Full course fee: $2,289.00 per pax (inclusive of 9% GST).
Subsidised fee: $1,145.50 per pax (inclusive of 9% GST)

Venue
OBS, Pulau Ubin, Singapore.
Training Delivery
The course will be conducted both indoors and outdoors, leveraging on case studies, role-playing and simulated abseiling scenarios. A practical assessment of the learning component will be conducted to validate the acquisition of skills by the participant. A maximum of 3 attempts will be granted per assessment component.
Assessment
Theory test — Written Exam (50 questions, minimum 80% to pass); and
Practical test (to score 100% "Competent").
Fulfil at least 80% of attendance.
To Note
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded the SNAS Abseil Proficiency Level 3 certification.
An e-certificate will be issued and reflected in your personal SSCMF account profile.
Slots are limited per session and are on a first-come-first-served basis.
Acceptance into the course is based on a confirmation sent out by OBS after all relevant documents have been submitted and payment has been made before course commencement.
