National Outdoor Adventure Education (NOAE) Masterplan
Learn how the NOAE Masterplan shapes character and builds essential life skills through purposeful outdoor experiences.
Objectives of the NOAE Masterplan

In the past years, MOE has put in a great effort to progressively move towards a holistic education to develop well-rounded individuals. Outdoor Education (OE) is one platform that provides rich learning experiences outside the classroom that can help our students develop holistically and build up their resilience and ruggedness. Many of these experiences cannot be replicated in the classrooms but are very important to help our students develop 21st century competencies as well as competencies for sustainable outdoor living.
Outdoor Adventure is an extension of the Physical Education curriculum (part of developing students’ 21st century competencies and application of outdoor living skills). The students’ OE experience will culminate in an OBS course for the entire cohort of Secondary 3 students. The unfamiliar outdoor environment will provide a useful leveller for students from diverse backgrounds to work collaboratively to problem-solve and make decisions under authentic and demanding situations.
